Freeze Drying Services Ballarat
The most appropriate technique to rescue water-damaged documents, books, maps, plans, data or equipment is known as freeze drying. A two-stage process, items are first frozen to arrest deterioration, stop inks running and limit mould or fungal growth. Next, the water is removed without restoring it to a liquid state, in a procedure known as sublimation, ensuring no further damage occurs.
With over 60 cubic metres of capacity, Steamatic owns and operates the largest freeze drying facility in the southern hemisphere. Our cavernous freeze drying chamber can handle huge disasters with both ease and speed.
